By air: Daily flights to Benbecula from Glasgow, flights from Stornoway and Inverness (Monday to Friday) via Loganair.
By sea: * Daily Calmac sailings from Skye to Lochmaddy. There are also sailings between Mallaig and Lochboisdale (Sth Uist). Lochboisdale is 52 miles from Berneray. Ferries run daily between Berneray and Leverburgh (Harris).
By rail: ScotRail services from Glasgow to Kyle of Lochalsh for interchange to local bus services.
By road: Mainland Scottish Citylink bus service from Glasgow to Skye connecting with ferries and Western Isles bus service.
Car Hire: * Cars can be hired from Car Hire Hebrides. Taxis are also available from the Lochmaddy ferry terminal.
To find The Smiddy, cross the causeway from North Uist to Berneray, turn right at the T-junction and turn left at the brown sign indicating the Community Hall. The Smiddy is located on the second last croft on this road. *It is advisable to book ferries and car hire in advance.
